The project Orchestrating the Borrowed by Hou Chien Cheng takes off from the artist’s original novel –Green, which is a doing-it-and-writing-it type of autobiography where the artist authorizes himself to be the protagonist, Albert Green, for a period of time and takes up a journey to be a transgender. Being a transgender is alien to the artist. It’s simply not who he is. But, by allowing himself into the world of the unknown he’d experience a life for which he’d never cared, of which he’d never dreamt and in which he’d never lived.

Orchestrating the Borrowed consists of video essays and object-installations exploring and showcasing a predominantly hijacked identity.

The novel Green will be launched at the opening.
