How do you describe your own art practice?
I work in a really intuitive way where every material and action is susceptible to be transformed in something unexpected. I am interested in sensorial and spiritual communication between different ‘species’ of materials and bodies. Normally my practice plays with fabrics and garments (reused and or upcycled) that can be shown under the form of installations, sculptures, paintings, tapestry… But in the last times, I have also done video, for example. Every idea or intuition appears in the form I feel in the moment. And I am always open to exploring new forms.

Which question or theme is central in your work?
Climate change, sustainability, entanglement (in the anthropocentric sense). For me it is very important to know the precedence of every material I use, to be as respectful as possible with all kinds of lives. Sometimes I feel that everything has a soul (an animated being that doesn’t depend on us at all). I try to work in a very conscious way, feeling the art as a way of healing.

What was your first experience with art?
Because of my family background, I have always been surrounded by art and books. I can not untie art and quotidian life. Art is one of the best ways to hang out and at the same time to connect with yourself and others.

What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Nature, textiles, friends, books… everything that surrounds me. Inspiration can be hidden everywhere, even when you move parts of your body that you are not used to move. In moments of devotion or meditation practice, also.

What do you need in order to create your work?
I am always ready to create. I think that creation is a state of mind and body. You can cook with care and tenderness, even a daily conversation can be surprising and full of poetic moments. I try not to put limits between art and life. I guess that in some way we all try. And, of course, to have my own space of solitude is always helpful and thankful.

What work or artist has most recently surprised you?
