How do you describe your own art practice?

I don’t have one particular practice, it’s quite diverse and ambivalent. I do work a lot with found objects which then are sculptured and/ or recoded, sometimes a patina or signs of use are being forced to infuse a narrative.

Which question or theme is central in your work?

It is less a theme but more a general motif of Nostalgia, the Uncanny and Sehnsucht, which of course sound like a blueprint of romanticism but morphed and drifted, questioning current forms of hedonism and consumerism.

What was your first experience with art?

HR Giger’s set design of Alien.

What is your greatest source of inspiration?

Besides obvious sources like books and movies, news and science I am highly interested in music: Making music, listening to it, especially while working, and discovering new music. It always helps me to concentrate but also as a catalyzer to new fields of interest.

What do you need in order to create your work?

Space, time, news

What work or artist has most recently surprised you?

Jordan Wolfson’s Colored Sculpture, 2016 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
