How do you describe your own art practice?
Looking at landscapes to read things about people, and sometimes using what I see to realize something. I mainly do performances or installations in public space.
What was your first experience with art?
I have no clue, I always acted in a quite instinctive way but I don’t remember the moment the result of this action was an artwork. I backup my memory every 6 months and don’t plan paying a psychiatrist to solve the issue.
What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Daily routine and reading, living in general. To be honest my main attention is trying not to be bored, and when I do interesting things it’s quite easy to identify a focal point to translate the reality I’m living into something that can communicate a synthesis of it, something more universal and not just related to my own specificity.
What do you need in order to create your work?
I need places, time to get to know them and not many people around. I grew up in the countryside and I fear this makes me some kind of sociopath.
What are you working on at the moment?
Finalizing work for my upcoming exhibition at Korogram Gallery in Seoul, and planning 2017-18. I’m organizing everything to slow down all production-related aspects and take a year to get my research going.
What work or artist has most recently surprised you?
I spent quite some time in Russia this year and discovered works I didn’t know about by Alexander Brener and other Russian performers from the 1990s.
