How do you describe your own artistic practice?
In 2007 I came to live in Paris, France. This change has completely transformed my artistic practice and my perception of art. I have seen works in museums and this has changed my relationship to the history of art. Since that day, I have been trying to think about the real and its double, distance, absence and lack that comes from this migration experience. What I put forward is the process of physical and mental individuation of this reflection.

I ask myself a set of questions related to the definition of art.
What was your first experience with art?
When I was a child, I was strongly impressed by a still life done by an old uncle of my family. Like a relic, this captivating painting fascinated me for a long time.
What is your greatest source of inspiration?
I am very sensitive to the finitude, to the mark of time on things, to the lack from which results in the disappearance and the absence. It puts me in sweet melancholy.
What do you need in order to create your work?
I work from research and philosophical readings. Memories or a meeting with an object or an intuition can trigger a work.
What work or artist has most recently surprised you?
Laura Lamiel’s work touches me a lot. Because her work is poetry. It deals with the appearance of the place and composes by the ground as if her thought was sowed through time and things. Her work makes us move formally and mentally in a place and involves our attention. I am very sensitive to this type of process.
