How do you describe your own art practice?
I constantly take photographs to feed my archive. The images are mostly tests of visual ideas which arise spontaneously for me.
And I go through the archive again and again until some image strikes me, often because of unexpected deviation in my visual experiment.
Sometimes this accidental image makes me able to develop a whole series.
What was your first experience with art?
My father left me once for a couple of hours at the art class his friend was teaching. I think I was 6, much younger than the students.
I remember white plaster heads with dark empty mouths and easels which I never saw before. I draw Shere Khan and was very proud when the teacher and the rest of the class came to look.
What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Being in nature after sunset.
What do you need in order to create your work?
Familiar environment and time to be alone.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am finishing RELAXING CHAMBER, a series I’ve been working on since 2017.
It started when I found a roll of film which I took with my first camera at the age of 7.
Fragments from this film became a part of the series and an inspiration for further development of the project.
